Materials and construction
The secret behind the exceptional protection of the Arc Knight® hood is its advanced hybrid construction. The key zones most exposed to spatter and heat, the shoulders and the top of the head, are made from tough black cowhide split leather. The remaining parts are sewn from very thick flame-retardant cotton with a weight of 520 g/m², which provides a thermal barrier and still keeps the hood comfortable. Seams sewn entirely with KEVLAR® thread keep the whole construction intact, even in extreme conditions. The thread resists high temperature and tearing, so the hood does not come apart at a critical moment.
Safety and certification
The 23-6630 hood is certified to EN ISO 11611 Class 2 (A1+A2). This is the highest protection level for welding clothing, intended for the most hazardous situations with much more spatter and higher radiant heat. When you choose a model from the Arc Knight® series, you invest in safety that is certified and tested by independent bodies and protects you during the heaviest work.
