Materials and Construction
The 23-7766 hood owes its performance to an advanced multi-layer construction in which every element has a precisely defined job.
Outer Layer: The outer shell is made of a material treated to make it flame-retardant. It is the first line of defence against welding hazards such as sparks and hot spatter, keeps them from igniting and protects the inner layers and the wearer's skin.
Technology Core, COMFOflex® Lining: The inside of the hood is lined with the patented COMFOflex® system, which is the key to comfort in low temperatures. It is not an ordinary lining but a two-part structure:
1. Inner layer (fleece): Soft fleece (fleecy cotton) that feels pleasant on the skin actively absorbs sweat and moisture, keeps the head dry and stops it from getting cold.
2. Outer layer (foam): A specialist foam forms a distinctive "air cushion". Here its main role is to create a thermal barrier that holds in body heat and keeps out the cold, while also giving mechanical cushioning and very good wearing comfort.
Crucially for safety, both layers of the COMFOflex® system are fully flame-retardant. This means the part responsible for comfort does not become a hazard in the welder's working environment.
