Materials and Construction
The 23-6690 hood is made of high-grade flame-retardant cotton with a fabric weight of 305 g/m². This carefully chosen material is the first line of defence against sparks and small spatter of molten metal, while giving very good breathability and comfort, which matters during long hours of work. The seams are sewn with 3-ply twisted KEVLAR® thread that resists high temperatures and tearing, so the hood will not rip at the worst possible moment. The ergonomic cut and the hook-and-loop closure under the chin let you adjust the hood precisely, and its design is fully compatible with most welding helmet headgear on the market.
Safety and Certification
The Fire Fox™ 23-6690 welding hood is certified to EN ISO 11611:2015, Class 1 (A1+A2). Class 1 is intended for protection during manual welding techniques that produce little spatter and low radiant heat.
