The protective performance of the 44-3009BF protector is built on its fibreglass construction. This material does not burn and has extremely high resistance to heat and molten metal spatter, clearly outperforming traditional materials such as leather or FR cotton in high-energy applications. The key design element is the black fibreglass inner coating. Its job is to absorb light, which prevents internal reflections from the welding arc. This removes the risk of dazzle and distraction and has a direct effect on safety and accuracy. The seams are made with multi-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, which resists burning through and tearing, so the protector stays intact even in the heaviest conditions.
