Materials and Construction
The secret of Arc Knight® sleeves is the material: a specially designed heavy cotton with a flame-retardant (FR) finish and a fabric weight of as much as 520 g/m². Thanks to its weight and dense weave, the fabric forms a solid protective barrier which in laboratory tests shows resistance to spatter and radiant heat close to that of split cowhide. The integrity of the construction in extreme conditions is ensured by seams made 100% with 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread. Aramid threads do not melt or burn, so the sleeves do not tear on contact with hot sparks and the welder's arms stay protected throughout.
Safety and Certification
The 38-4321 welding sleeves are certified to EN ISO 11611:2015 Class 2 (A1+A2). This is the highest protection level for welding clothing, intended for high-risk work. Class 2 confirms effective protection during processes that produce a large amount of molten metal spatter and a high level of radiant heat.
