Materials and construction
The reliability of the 44-7110 bag rests on carefully selected grade A split cowhide. Welders value this material for its natural resistance to high temperature, spatter and mechanical damage such as abrasion. It protects the electrodes against damage and moisture. The point that shows the quality of Weldas is the use of DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread on all seams. Unlike standard thread, KEVLAR® does not melt or burn through under high temperature, which removes the most frequent cause of damage to accessories of this type. The bag is shaped for easy access to the electrodes, and the solid loop holds it steady on the welder's belt.
Safety and certification
As an accessory, an electrode bag is not subject to direct certification under PPE standards such as EN ISO 11611. Its role in the safety system is still important. Materials that are flame resistant by nature (leather, KEVLAR® thread) prevent ignition from stray sparks or spatter. Just as important, the bag keeps order at the workplace, protects the electrodes against damage, which affects weld quality, and removes the risk of tripping over scattered material.
