Weldas LAVAshield® 55-7166/MTR green welding curtain (sold by the metre)
The LAVAshield® line is an advanced system of protective barriers designed to shield the whole working environment from the optical and physical hazards produced during welding. These products are used to set up safe, separated workstations, protecting people outside the immediate work area from harmful UV radiation, intense arc light and hot spatter. A professional solution for production plants, workshops and training facilities where safety comes first.
Key features
Certified safety: Full compliance with DIN EN ISO 25980, ensuring effective filtering of harmful radiation.
Top-quality material: Made of a specially developed, self-extinguishing PVC vinyl, 14 mil (0.35 mm) thick.
Optical protection: The green colour gives low transparency and cuts glare from the welding arc to a minimum.
Sold by the running metre: Lets you build a partition of any non-standard length, matched exactly to your needs.
Complete system: Each running metre comes with a set of snap fasteners (Weldas 99-4000) for joining the curtain strips.
Technical details and certification
Materials and construction
The LAVAshield® welding screen is made of a specialised PVC vinyl, 0.35 mm thick, with high resistance to tearing and to sparks and spatter. The material is self-extinguishing: it does not keep burning once the ignition source is removed, which is essential for fire safety. The green pigment has been chosen to filter harmful UV radiation and blue light effectively while damping the intense visible light of the arc as much as possible. This keeps people working nearby comfortable and safe and minimises the risk of eye exposure (the so-called "arc eye"). Selling by the running metre from a roll of fixed width lets you build protective barriers flexibly, without unnecessary waste.
Safety and certification
The Weldas 55-7166/MTR welding screen is certified to the demanding European standard DIN EN ISO 25980. This certification, confirmed by independent laboratories, guarantees that the product meets the key safety requirements for welding curtains:
Radiation filtering: Effective blocking of harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation.
Blue light protection: Reduction of blue light, which is dangerous to the retina.
UV stability: The material does not degrade or lose its filtering properties under long exposure to arc radiation.
Limited light transmission: Protects against glare.
Self-extinguishing: Does not spread flame.
By choosing a product certified to EN ISO 25980, you invest in a proven, reliable solution that protects the health and lives of your staff.
