The 23-7711 cap is made of a specially selected, thick cotton with flame-retardant properties. The material does two jobs. First, it forms a basic protective barrier against stray sparks and spatter that can get under the helmet. Second, its high fabric weight and dense weave give very good thermal insulation and keep the head and neck from getting cold during work in harsh winter conditions. The ergonomic cut is designed to sit close to the head and cover the neck without causing discomfort under a welding helmet or safety helmet.
