What it is for
The gas lens gives a laminar gas flow, so you can extend the electrode further out of the nozzle. The standard collet body takes standard nozzles. No. 8 means 8/16 in, the manufacturer gives 12.7 mm. Replace the nozzle when it is cracked or chipped.

Does it fit BT17, BT26 or ST 3000?
No. These torches use 17/18/26 consumables; there the no. 8 gas lens nozzle is 82.10.361.
How does it differ from the standard no. 8 nozzle?
The standard no. 8 nozzle (82.10.231, 12.5 mm) fits the standard body, this one the gas lens body.
