What it is for
The medium back cap is shorter than the long one (82.10.064), so the torch rear sticks out less; the electrode must be correspondingly shorter. The joint with the torch head is sealed by O-ring 82.10.067. Replace the cap when it is cracked or the thread is damaged.

Long or medium back cap?
The long cap (82.10.064) takes a full-length electrode. The medium cap (82.10.065) shortens the torch rear for tight spots, with a shorter electrode.
Does it fit BT17, BT26 or ST 3000?
No. These torches use 17/18/26 consumables; the back caps there are 82.10.018 (long) and 82.10.019 (short).
Which O-ring fits?
