The BT26 U/D is a gas-cooled TIG torch, 8 m long, with U/D (up/down) buttons for remote current control from the handle. It takes electrodes from 1.0 to 4.0 mm and carries 180 A DC or 125 A AC at 35% duty cycle. The Böhler Welding price list assigns it to the CORE 185 TIG and CORE 210 TIG.
What it is for
When you want to change the current on the CORE 185 TIG or CORE 210 TIG with buttons on the torch, without leaving the weld. It is the stronger counterpart of the BT17 U/D: electrodes up to 4.0 mm and 180 A DC. Connection kits for CORE machines are listed below under Also order.

FAQ
BT26 U/D or BT17 U/D?
Both fit the CORE 185 TIG. The BT26 U/D takes electrodes up to 4.0 mm and carries 180 A DC; the BT17 U/D 8 m goes up to 3.2 mm and 150 A DC. For the CORE 210 TIG the price list specifies the BT26 U/D only.
Can I replace just the U/D trigger?
Yes. The U/D trigger for remote current control on the BT17 and BT26 is a separate item: U/D trigger for remote current control, BT17 and BT26.
Which consumables fit the BT26 U/D?
Standard 17/18/26 series parts: collets 1.0 to 4.0 mm, collet bodies in the same sizes, ceramic nozzles from No. 4 (6.4 mm) to No. 12 (19 mm) and a long or short back cap. Match the collet and collet body to the electrode diameter.
4 m or 8 m?
The 8 m length gives you reach when you weld away from the machine, for example on a large structure, without moving it. For bench work the BT26 U/D 4 m is enough.
