The Cloos GLC 451 is a transformer MIG/MAG power source with a welding current up to 450 A and 350 A at a 100% duty cycle. You take the supply from a 400 V mains, and the shielding gas cools the torch.
What this machine is for
The machine goes to structural steel and solid wire under gas shielding. The 350 A at a 100% duty cycle means you run long passes without breaks for the power source to cool, and you have 450 A for shorter passes with more energy. You take that reserve for thicker plate, hollow sections and fillet welds in load bearing structures.
This is kit for a permanent station in a metal shop, in a steel structure works or in a repair plant. The transformer design copes with dust and damp, because there is no digital controller here. Service is simpler than in an inverter.
Features and equipment
- Stepped welding current control. You choose the setting with a switch; the steps are mechanical and will not shift by accident during a shift.
- Stepless wire feed control. You set the feed speed without steps, so you tune the arc to the thickness of the material.
- Burn back control. You set how much wire burns off after you release the trigger, so the wire does not stick to the contact tip or to the pool.

What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V, three phase, so you need a three phase socket, and you pick the fuse to suit the draw at the top settings. Voltage control is stepped, so you cannot set a value between the steps. There is no pulse and no synergic programs here, the welder picks the parameters. There is no liquid cooling here, so choose a torch with a reserve of current rating.
The record does not list a torch, an earth cable or an interconnection cable, so confirm the equipment before you buy. It does not give the weight or the dimensions either, and a transformer of this rating weighs a lot, so arrange unloading in advance.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
