ESAB Origo Mig 410w with an Origo Feed 484 M12 feeder is an industrial MIG/MAG set of transformer and rectifier design, with an integrated liquid cooler. You set the current from 50 A to 400 A, and the documentation gives 400 A at 34 V and a 50% duty cycle, 365 A at 32 V and a 60% duty cycle and 280 A at 29 V in continuous 100% work. Supply is 3 x 400 V to 415 V at 50/60 Hz, and you set the voltage in steps over 40 positions.
What this machine is for
The set was made for heavy production and service: thick steel plate, structural sections, frames, semi trailers and industrial machines. You work with solid wires and with heavier cored, rutile and basic wires, from 0.6 mm to 2.4 mm in diameter. At 280 A in a continuous 100% cycle you lay long welds without breaks to cool the source and the torch, and at 365 A with a 60% duty cycle you add a reserve for shorter runs on a larger section.
The greatest value of this configuration is the reach. The interconnection cable is from 10 m to 15 m, the torch about 4 m, so the real working radius reaches from 14 m to 19 m from the source. You set the heavy unit once, and with the feeder you go into assembly zones that are hard to reach, onto a structure or under a frame. The feeder sits on a swivel base, which you turn through 360 degrees while welding, and the source stands on a trolley with room for a gas cylinder.
The adjustment is mechanical and stepped: four coarse ranges of ten fine steps each give 40 working points, and you plug the earth cable into one of two sockets of different inductance. Higher inductance slows the rise of the short circuit current, so the arc is soft, the bead smoother and there is less spatter, above all in Ar/CO2 mixtures. Lower inductance gives a hard, focused arc with deeper penetration, which on thick plate under pure CO2 shortens the time of filling the groove. The machine has no synergy, no pulse and no program memory, so you run the parameters yourself, but tracing a fault does not call for electronics service.
Features and equipment
- Voltage adjustment over 40 steps: four coarse ranges times ten fine ones, a mechanical change of transformer taps holds the voltage in spite of swings in the mains and lets you reproduce a setting from the step number.
- Two earth sockets of different output inductance: by moving the earth cable you change the arc from soft and smooth to hard and focused, without going into a menu.
- Origo Feed 484 M12 feeder with a four roll drive, liquid cooled: a reinforced industrial version rated 630 A at a 60% duty cycle, it drives wires from 0.6 mm to 2.4 mm without crushing the core and without slip.
- Wire feed speed from 1.9 m/min to 25 m/min with stepless motor speed control: you match the deposition rate exactly to the material thickness and the weld section.
- Integrated liquid cooler with the ESAB LogicPump system (ELP): the pump starts only when a liquid cooled torch is detected, so it uses less energy, lives longer and makes less noise during breaks. A switch on the source forces continuous pump work.
- Creep Start, a slow wire start on the 0/1 switch of the M12 panel: the wire comes out more slowly until the strike, so it does not hit cold material and the start on thicker diameters is calmer.
- Stepless Burn-back adjustment from 0 s to 0.5 s: too short a time sticks the wire to the pool, too long strikes the arc in the contact tip, and with the potentiometer you hit the point in between.
- Torch modes 2T and 4T: 2T for tacking and short service welds, 4T for long continuous beads without holding the button.
- Digital current and voltage meter on the source panel: you read the running values and set them repeatably to the WPS welding procedure.
- Feeder swivel base turning through 360 degrees: you turn the feeder while welding, without moving it at the station.
- MIG/MAG torch of about 4 m, liquid cooled, with a EURO connector: it takes the heat away when you work at currents from 300 A to 400 A.
- Wheeled trolley with room for a gas cylinder: you roll the whole station together with the shielding gas.

What to watch out for
The set needs a 3 x 400 V to 415 V mains at 50/60 Hz and a circuit sized for a 400 A source. A weight of about 158 kg and dimensions of about 812 x 552 x 925 mm make it a stationary unit: prepare a pallet truck or a forklift for unloading. Once it is in place, check the tightness of the coolant couplings and the state of the interconnection cable from 10 m to 15 m long, because that is the most exposed section of the package, carrying current, gas, control and coolant. The pump works in ELP mode or continuously, and the switch is on the source.
The torch is rated for currents from 300 A to 400 A, so on longer work watch the coolant circuit, because without it the torch will not stand even a short run. The machine has no synergy, no pulse and no JOB memory, you set all the parameters by hand: the voltage step, the wire speed and the inductance socket. Aluminium calls for confirming the configuration, U type rolls and a PTFE liner, and on thin stainless steel the lack of pulse shows in how the bead looks. The housing has protection class IP23 and insulation class H.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
