The ESAB OrigoArc 410c is an industrial rectifier for welding with a covered electrode and by the TIG method, built in Chopper technology. It gives 400 A at a 60% duty cycle and 310 A at 100%, and it is supplied from a mains of 400 to 415 V three phase. A weight of about 157 kg means a stationary machine, set up for good at the station.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for heavy welding with a covered electrode. The MMA current range covers 20 to 400 A, so you handle thin electrodes for filling and thick diameters for multi run welds and for gouging. The Chopper characteristic holds the current steady with changes of arc length, so the welder leads the pool more easily in forced positions and there is less spatter.
The second method is TIG with a range from 10 to 400 A and the LiveTig function. The machine takes the place of a separate TIG station in assembly work, where you weld thick plate with an electrode one moment and add a fine run on a pipe the next. The documentation names work with all types of covering: basic, rutile and cellulosic, that is also electrodes for welding pipelines downhill.
The documentation aims this model at heavy industry, at shipyards and at firms building pipelines and bridge structures. The rectifier takes a supply from long extension leads and from a generator set, so it also works on a building site, where the mains voltage can drop.
Features and equipment
- Chopper control technology: fast control of the welding current gives a soft arc that follows changes of arc length, so there is less spatter.
- Adjustable Hot Start: a current boost at the start makes striking easier and limits the electrode sticking to the material.
- Adjustable Arc Force: you set the hardness of the arc to the type of covering, and that counts on welds tested by RTG and UT methods.
- LiveTig: the circuit drops the current the moment the tungsten electrode touches the material and raises it after it is lifted, so the start is clean and free of tungsten inclusions.
- Work in two methods: MMA on thick plate and TIG on thin walls and pipes, at one station.
- Ready for a wired remote control: you set the current from the structure side, without going back to the panel.
- Resistance to drops of the supply voltage: work from long extension leads and from a generator set.

What to watch out for
A weight of about 157 kg rules out carrying it alone, for unloading you need a pallet truck or two people and a ramp. A supply from 400 to 415 V needs a power socket and a circuit sized for the draw, and for work from a generator take a unit with voltage stabilisation. The product card gives no torch cooling system, so for work by the TIG method at higher currents ask about the torch and about whether it should be liquid cooled.
The machine is ready for a wired remote control, check whether the remote and the cable are in the set. The source description does not name torches, an earth cable or a regulator, so confirm the contents of the set before you buy.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
