The Kjellberg HiFocus 100 is an industrial liquid cooled plasma power source for machine cutting. You set the cutting current from 20 A, at a 100% duty cycle the power source gives 100 A, and the supply is 3x400 V with a mains rating of 32 kVA.
What this machine is for
You connect this power source to a cutting gantry, a CNC table or a robot. It is not a finished cutter, only a power unit for building or rebuilding a station. A duty cycle of 100 A at 100% means cutting through a whole shift with no breaks for cooling, which matters when you sever thick steel sheets and in multi shift production. Integrators building their own cutting tables reach for such a power source, and so do plants that have a working gas system and Kjellberg equipment and are replacing the power unit alone.
The current goes down to 20 A, so on small parts and thin sheet you limit undercut at the edge. The HiFocus technology narrows and focuses the plasma arc: the cut is narrower, the bevel on the edge smaller and the heat affected zone shallower than with plain air plasma. In practice you deburr less, and holes and contours repeat across the sheets that follow. On thin sheet you drop the current, on thick sheet you hold continuous cutting, so one power source covers different orders.
Once the system is complete, the machine suits cutting of structural steel, stainless steel and aluminium on a cross table. This power source is not meant for hand cutting, because it works with machine torches and the control of a cutting machine.
Features and equipment

- HV high voltage ignition at an open circuit voltage of 400 V, that is a repeatable change from the pilot arc to the cutting arc also in an electrically noisy machine environment.
- An internal coolant circuit for the torch, with no separate external cooling unit.
- It works with PerCut series machine torches, including the PerCut 160 and the PerCut 170. The internal coolant circuit has a flow matched to those torches, which shows in the life of the consumables on a cross table.

What to watch out for
The offer covers the power source alone, so for cutting you add a gas console, a machine torch with a cable package, an earth cable, an interface to the control of the cutting machine that takes the start and arc confirmation signals, and a torch height control. Without those parts the machine will not cut sheet. The supply is 3x400 V and 50 Hz, the mains rating is 32 kVA, and the installation has to have a T50 A time delay fuse. An open circuit voltage of 400 V calls for a properly insulated connection on the CNC table side. Before you order, count what is missing at your station, because a gas console with a torch costs about as much as the power source itself, and the interface has to suit the control of your cutting machine.
A weight of about 251 kg and dimensions of 960 x 540 x 1050 mm mean unloading with a forklift and a fixed place next to the machine. Flush the coolant circuit, check the pump and the tightness before the first strike, and choose the fluid as the torch maker advises. The choice and topping up of the fluid stay on your side, because they depend on the set you connect to the power source. The IP 22 protection class allows a hall, not a dusty station without covers. The old description gave a higher cutting current than the product record, so we stay with the data from the record, and we will confirm the maximum current of this unit by measurement before dispatch.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
