Lincoln Invertec 300TPX is an industrial inverter TIG DC power source with a pulse up to 500 Hz and an MMA DC mode. You set the welding current from 5 to 300 A, the TIG duty cycle is 300 A at 40% and 220 A at 100%, the supply is 400 V three phase. The panel runs a full cycle sequencer and remembers 10 procedures.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for black steel, stainless steel and special alloys. The current reaches 300 A, and 220 A under a continuous load, so the machine runs long welds on pipelines and tanks without breaks for cooling. You will not weld aluminium with it, because the output is direct current only, and aluminium alloys need alternating current.
The second group of tasks is work with pulse where the amount of heat put in counts. The pulse reaches 500 Hz and splits into three ranges: from 0.1 to 10 Hz, from 10 to 300 Hz and from 300 to 500 Hz. A slow pulse leads the pool rhythmically on the root layer, a fast one narrows the arc and stiffens it on a thin wall. You set the background current from 10 to 90%, so you choose the share of heat between the impulse and the break and limit the distortion of sheet.
The third group is the covered electrode. The MMA DC mode gives up to 270 A with Hot Start, Arc Force and Anti-Sticking, also for cellulose electrodes used in forced positions. The manufacturer aimed the machine at welding shops working pipelines and tanks in stainless steel, at fitters working on parts of varying thickness, at multi series plants using Spot TIG and the program memory and at repair teams joining TIG with the electrode.
Features and equipment
- Full TIG sequencer: gas flow before welding, start current, slope up and slope down times, crater fill and gas flow after the end of a pass.
- Memory of 10 programs from P01 to P10: you save a full set of settings for a given part and call them up from the panel.
- TIG DC pulse up to 500 Hz in three ranges, from 0.1 to 10 Hz, from 10 to 300 Hz and from 300 to 500 Hz: you pick the rhythm of the impulses for the thickness and the welding position.
- Background current control from 10 to 90%: it lowers the heat energy put into the weld and limits the distortion of thin walled sheet.
- Bi-Level: you switch two currents during one strike, without putting the arc out, when the thickness of the material changes half way along a joint.
- Spot TIG: repeatable spot welding by a set time, for tacking production parts.
- HF ignition: a start without touching, with high frequency, without bringing tungsten into the pool.
- Lift TIG ignition: a contact start for places sensitive to electromagnetic disturbance, for example near a server room or on board electronics.
- MMA DC mode up to 270 A: Hot Start raises the current at the start and lowers the risk of the electrode sticking, Arc Force holds the arc on short circuits, Anti-Sticking cuts the current on a lasting short circuit.

What you get
- Lincoln Invertec 300TPX power source
- TIG torch 8 m, liquid cooled
- earth cable 4 m
What to watch out for
The machine needs a 400 V three phase connection with a tolerance of 15% and a 20 A fuse with a D characteristic, time delay. The TIG duty cycle is 300 A at 40% and 220 A at 100%, in MMA 270 A at 40% and 200 A at 100%, so at the full current you weld four minutes in a ten minute window. The torch in the set is liquid cooled, for work you need a cooler with fluid and a check of the flow before the start.
The torch is 8 m, the earth cable 4 m, which gives reach around the part and a heavier cable bundle to move about. The power source weighs 21 kg and measures 389 x 247 x 502 mm, you carry it without a trolley, but the cooler and the cables add weight.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
