The Rowac ISI 400, according to the source description an equivalent of the Lorch 905 S5, is a liquid cooled inverter MIG/MAG welder for a 400 V supply. The source gives 400 A at a 60% duty cycle and 300 A under a continuous load of 100%. It has double pulse, pulse, synergy and an MMA mode.
What this machine is for
At 300 A the machine works without a break, and the peak of 400 A at a 60% duty cycle is left for thicker fillet welds and multi run joints in structural steel.
Synergy matches the voltage to the speed of the wire feed once you point to the material, the gas and the diameter. Pulse tears off the drops in time with the pulses, so you have less spatter and less heat in the part, and the double pulse lays an even ripple on aluminium and on acid resistant steel. The MMA mode is left for repairs with a covered electrode, where the gas shield will not stay over the pool.

What to watch out for
The supply is a 400 V mains and a three phase circuit matched to work at 400 A. The cooler needs fluid with protection against freezing, and before the start check the level, the flow and the seals at the quick couplings. The interconnection cable is 10 m and the earth cable 3 m, so keep the earth close to the part. For the MMA mode buy an electrode holder, the record does not list one.
