Technology in detail
ShadeTronic® technology: an intelligent protection autopilot
ShadeTronic® technology works like a personal assistant that constantly monitors the intensity of the welding arc. Using advanced sensors, the helmet selects and adjusts the shade fully automatically and in real time across a broad range from 5 to 13. You no longer need to adjust anything by hand when you change the welding parameters, the process or the current. The welder can concentrate fully on the precision of the weld, knowing that the eyes are optimally protected under typical workshop conditions. It is an investment in higher productivity and working comfort that lets you forget about operating the filter manually.
Perfect optical class 1/1/1/1: see every imperfection
The 1/1/1/1 classification under EN379 stands for the highest possible optical quality. It means a crystal-clear, uniform and distortion-free view of the weld pool and its surroundings, even when you look at an angle. First class in each of the four categories (optical quality, light diffusion, homogeneity of shade, angle dependence) gives outstanding precision and reduces eye strain. For a professional, this means seeing the finest details of the process, which leads to higher quality and fewer weld defects.
True-Color View: welding in real colours
Forget the traditional green welding image. The True-Color filter lets a much broader spectrum of colours through and gives you a view close to natural. You can tell the colours of the weld pool apart precisely, which is key to judging the temperature, cleanliness and overall quality of the joint. Better colour and contrast perception makes the process easier to control and noticeably improves working comfort, because your eyes are under less strain during long welding sessions. Investing in True-Color technology means better control over the weld and less fatigue.
FadeTronic®: smooth brightening for eye comfort
FadeTronic® technology changes the way the helmet returns to the light state after the arc goes out. Instead of a sudden, abrupt brightening, the filter moves from dark to light smoothly and gradually, giving your eyes time to adapt comfortably. You can set the delay time precisely in the range from 0.1 to 2.0 seconds and match the helmet to the afterglow of the material after welding. This noticeably reduces fatigue and strain on the eyes, which is invaluable during many hours of work.
Integrated hard hat adapter
Version 1006.503 comes factory-fitted with a universal adapter that lets you connect the e684 to most standard safety helmets without difficulty. This is essential for welders working where health and safety rules strictly require the head to be protected against impact. The adapter gives a stable and secure mount while keeping the full functionality and ergonomics of the welding helmet. You no longer have to choose between top-class eye protection and the safety requirements at your workstation.
