The Evolution V80 welding helmet has an ADF with a 124 x 80 mm viewing area, according to the manufacturer the largest on the market. The light state is shade 2.5, the dark ranges of shade 4 to 8 and 9 to 14 adjust in 0.5 steps, and the filter has the highest possible rating, V1 + TIG to ISO 16321-2. It is the newest model of the Evolution Vision family, with two CR2450 batteries for 2500 hours of operation.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Evolution V80 differ from the Evolution Vision 65F?

The V80 has a larger viewing area (124 x 80 mm), light state 2.5, 0.5-step adjustment, the V1 + TIG rating and grind mode on a button. The Evolution Vision 65F (Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65F auto-darkening flip-up welding helmet) has a 65 x 96 mm filter on a flip-up front and a separate 180 x 90 mm grinding visor.

How do I grind with this helmet?

Press the GRIND button on the side of the shell: the filter switches to grind mode, pressing again switches it off. You can keep the helmet on while preparing the workpiece.

How long do the batteries last and how do I change them?

According to the manufacturer the two CR2450 batteries last 2500 hours. To change them, lay the helmet face down, lift the headgear, push the tab on the underside of the filter and lift the filter out; the battery retainer is on top of the filter. The filter is connected to the GRIND button by a cable, so do not pull on it.

Are the lenses shared with the Evolution Vision 65?

The front cover lens is (Böhler Welding front cover lens Evolution Vision 65F, 65FM, V80, V80M (5 pcs)). The inner lens is different: the V80 takes the Böhler Welding inner lens Evolution V80, V80M (2 pcs).

Is there a version with air supply?

Yes, the Evolution V80 Air Kit (Böhler Welding Evolution V80 Air Kit, welding helmet with Evolution Air PAPR) with the V80 Air helmet and the Evolution Air system. The V80 is not suitable for laser welding or oxy-acetylene gas welding.
