Frequently asked questions

How does the Evolution Vision 65F differ from the 65FM?

For the extra cost of the 65FM (Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65FM auto-darkening helmet with auto-shade) you get auto-shade (AUTO mode with a correction of 2 shades up or down) and a matt blue shell. The 65F is set manually in WELD and CUT modes and has a glossy shell. Viewing area, grinding visor and the 1/1/1/1 rating are the same.

How do I change the inner lens?

Lift the flip-up, rest the helmet chin up, slide the two cartridge tabs to the middle and pull the filter out. Remove the lens with the plunger tool, fit the new one under the tabs by bending it slightly and slide the filter back.

How do I switch the filter on and does it switch off by itself?

Press ON/OFF to switch it on and again to switch it off. If you forget, the filter switches off by itself after 30 minutes. When the battery indicator flashes on the display, replace the CR2450 battery (Böhler Welding ADF battery CR2450 Guardian, Evolution Vision, Evolution V80, Laser Guard).

Is it suitable for gas or laser welding?

No. The manual excludes laser welding and oxy-acetylene welding. For gas welding there are the Eyewear IR5 glasses (Böhler Welding Eyewear IR5 gas welding glasses), for laser the Laser Guard helmet (Böhler Welding Laser Guard helmet for laser and hybrid welding).

Is there a version with air supply?

Yes, the Evolution Vision 65F Air Kit (Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65F Air Kit, flip-up welding helmet with Evolution Air PAPR): 65F Air helmet with the Evolution Air system in an Evolution bag.
