Technology Details

Adaptive Shade Autopilot, intelligent protection in real time

This technology is the heart of the e684 and changes the whole approach to eye protection. A dedicated brightness sensor continuously measures the intensity of the welding arc and adjusts the shade level fully automatically and on the fly, across a stepless range from 5 to 13. You no longer need to change settings manually when you change welding current, process or position, and the protection is matched precisely every second. Unlike step-based systems, stepless adjustment prevents eye fatigue and lets you concentrate fully on the task. Investing in Autopilot means full concentration on the weld, higher productivity and no errors caused by choosing the wrong protection level.

Top optical class 1/1/1/1, a crystal-clear image

Certification to 1/1/1/1 under EN379 guarantees the highest optical quality a welding filter can achieve. The first digit '1' stands for optical precision, with no image distortion (magnifying effect). The second '1' means no light diffusion, which prevents a hazy image. The third '1' guarantees completely uniform shading across the whole filter surface, with no lighter spots. The last '1' ensures constant viewing quality regardless of the viewing angle, which is essential when welding out of position. This technical peak lets you see the weld pool with exceptional clarity. An optical class like this translates directly into less eye strain, better process control and more precise welds.

Twilight technology, a smooth transition to light

Standard filters switch from dark to light instantly, which can cause brief glare from the glowing metal just after the arc goes out. The Twilight technology in the e684 solves this problem with smooth, gradual brightening of the filter from dark to light. You can adjust the duration of this transition to your own preferences and to how the material cools. The process mimics the natural adaptation of the human eye to changing light and significantly reduces strain and stress on the eyes. It is a fundamental function that protects your eyes from light shock and increases comfort and safety, especially during long periods of work and tack welding.

PAPR-Ready design, ready for future challenges

The e684 shell is designed with modularity and future expansion in mind. It is fully compatible with Optrel e3000X respiratory protection systems, as confirmed by the dedicated e684 PAPR version. This means that when working conditions call for the highest protection against welding fumes and dust, you do not need to replace the whole helmet. You simply buy the dedicated air supply system and integrate it with the helmet you already have, creating a fully certified set with respiratory protection. It is an investment in flexibility and safety that lets you adapt the equipment to growing requirements without paying for a completely new set.
