The ESAB Aristo Luc 500 is an inverter multiprocess power source with a welding current of 500 A at a 60% duty cycle and 400 A at a 100% duty cycle. Apart from MIG/MAG it handles TIG and a covered electrode. It has liquid cooling, pulse and synergic control.
What this machine is for
One power source closes three methods, so at one station you weld with wire in a gas shield, with a tungsten electrode and with a covered electrode. A current of 400 A in a 100% duty cycle holds long runs without breaks for cooling, and 500 A gives a margin for passes with deep penetration. This is equipment for makers of steel structures and for workshops that join production with repairs.
Synergy shortens the settings: you choose the wire and the thickness, and the rest of the parameters are picked by themselves. Pulse orders the transfer of drops of metal and limits spatter, so less grinding is left after welding. Liquid cooling holds the temperature of the torch on long welds at a high current.
Features and equipment

- Synergy. You set the wire and the thickness, the power source picks the voltage and the feed speed.
- Three processes: MIG/MAG, TIG and a covered electrode. A move between them is a change of the torch, and not a change of the machine.

What to watch out for
The base price holds the supply cable, the other cables the card gives as an option for an extra charge, so settle the cost of the whole set before you buy. The supply is 400 V, three phases. Liquid cooling: you check the fluid level and the tightness of the quick couplings before the start. The TIG cable is 8 m, and with such a bundle the drop on the cable is bigger. The card does not give the weight, settle the transport before collection.
