Technical details and certification
Materials and construction
The strength of the 44-7836 apron comes from top quality grade A side split cowhide with a guaranteed minimum thickness of 1 mm. This material is an excellent barrier against molten metal spatter, intense radiant heat and mechanical damage. The seams are double stitched with very strong 5-ply DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread. Aramid thread does not melt or burn, so the garment does not come apart at critical moments, even in direct contact with sparks. The apron is part of a modular system, designed for quick and secure attachment to dedicated Weldas cape sleeves (including 44-7800, 44-2800), so you can build a full protective suit.
Safety and certification
The 44-7836 welding apron, part of the Lava Brown™ line, is certified to EN ISO 11611:2015, Class 2/A1+A2. This is the highest protection level for welding clothing, intended for the most hazardous processes that produce heavy spatter and intense heat (for example MMA, FCAW, gouging). Class 2 confirms that the material withstands at least 25 drops of molten metal and gives radiant heat protection of ≥ 16 s. With this model, you invest in safety that is certified and tested by independent laboratories.
