Technical Details and Certification
Materials and Construction
The 44-2828 apron is built from carefully selected cowhide split leather with a guaranteed thickness of at least 1 mm. This material is an effective mechanical and thermal barrier against the hot metal spatter typical of MIG/MAG and MMA welding. A key design feature is the 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® aramid thread used for all seams. Unlike standard threads, KEVLAR® does not melt or burn, so the apron holds together even under intense heat. The greatest advantage of this model is its modularity: it was designed as an extension for Weldas jackets (including 44-2800, 44-7800), so you can build an integrated, fuller protection system without investing in a separate full suit.
Safety and Certification
The 44-2828 apron is an integral part of the Weldas personal protection system. Combined with a compatible welding jacket, it forms a set that meets the strict requirements of EN ISO 11611:2015 in Class 2 / A1+A2. Class 2 is the highest protection level for welding clothing, intended for heavy welding work that produces a lot of spatter and intense radiant heat. With this product, you can be sure that your protective clothing system has been checked for safety by independent notified bodies such as TÜV, which is standard for all Weldas products placed on the European market.
