Materials and construction
The outstanding strength of the 44-7148 apron comes from selected, top-quality grade A cowhide split leather (A-Grade side split cowhide) with a guaranteed minimum thickness of 1 mm. Thanks to its density and flexibility, this material is an excellent barrier against molten metal spatter, intense radiant heat and mechanical damage. The key construction element is the seams, sewn with the strongest thread on the market: 5-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® aramid thread. This thread does not melt or burn at extreme temperatures, which prevents the garment from falling apart at critical moments and ensures many years of service life. All points exposed to mechanical stress, such as the strap attachments, are additionally reinforced with metal rivets.
Safety and certification
The Lava Brown™ 44-7148 apron is certified to EN ISO 11611, Class 2/A1+A2. This is the highest possible protection level for welding clothing, intended for the most hazardous and demanding manual work that produces large amounts of spatter and intense heat (e.g. MMA welding, FCAW, gouging). When you choose this model, you invest in safety certified and tested by the renowned notified body TÜV, which guarantees compliance with the strictest occupational health and safety requirements.
