Materials and construction
The effectiveness of the SWEATSOpad® 20-3300V lies in its patented two-layer construction (trademark U.S. Reg. 3113365), a well thought out piece of practical engineering.
Outer layer: Made of 100% soft, flame-retardant "fleecy" cotton. Its job is to absorb moisture straight from the skin, immediately. The material is highly absorbent and soft to the touch, which minimises the risk of irritation, and its key property, flame retardancy, adds a further layer of protection in a welding environment.
Inner layer: Innovative foam with an air cushion system (Air-Cushioned Foam). It works as a moisture reservoir, locking sweat into its porous structure and preventing it from soaking through. At the same time it gives good cushioning and improves the fit and stability of the headgear, so you feel less tired after many hours of work. The 14 cm length is optimised for fitting to the rear of the harness, where pressure and sweat tend to build up.
Safety and certification
Safety is the foundation of the Weldas philosophy. The SWEATSOpad® sweatband is designed to remove hazards, not create them. The cotton material is tested for flame retardancy, which is essential in welding work. With no metal components at all, there is no risk of conducting electricity.
