Materials and construction
The reliability of the 44-3922Z cover rests on carefully selected split cowhide. This natural material is highly resistant to burn-through from hot spatter and to mechanical damage such as rubbing against sharp edges or bending. Unlike cheaper plastic covers, leather does not melt or stick to the cables when heated. The seams, sewn with 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, keep the construction intact. This is a key premium feature: aramid threads withstand extremely high temperatures and have very high tear strength, which removes the most common point of failure, burnt-through or torn seams.
Safety and certification
Although accessories such as cable covers are not subject to the same certification standards as protective clothing (e.g. EN ISO 11611), this product is made to Weldas' highest quality standards. Split cowhide and KEVLAR® thread, the materials used in certified Class 2 clothing, guarantee above-average protection.
