Materials and construction
The 10-2755 model is a specialised tool designed for maximum protection in environments with extremely high radiant heat. Its construction is a masterpiece of materials engineering. The back of the hand and the cuff are covered with a layer of aluminised PFR (Protective Flame Retardant) Rayon, which works like a mirror and reflects up to 95% of the radiant heat generated when welding at high currents. Under this protective barrier there is a layer of flexible deerskin that gives you freedom of movement. The cuff is made of tough A-grade split cowhide.
The heart of the glove is the patented, flame-retardant COMFOflex® lining. This two-layer system consists of an inner fleece that absorbs sweat and an outer foam that forms an “air cushion”, which insulates against heat and cushions your hand. The whole glove is sewn with 4- or 5-ply braided DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, so the seams, the most common point of failure in cheaper gloves, do not burn through or tear under mechanical and thermal stress.
Safety and certification
Weldas 10-2755 gloves are certified to EN 12477 as Type A. This classification is intended for gloves that offer the highest level of protection against thermal and mechanical risks, which makes them an ideal choice for most welding processes, especially MIG/MAG and MMA. The gloves are also tested for compliance with EN 388 (mechanical risks) and EN 407 (thermal risks), giving the professional complete, proven protection.
