Materials and construction
The functionality of the 10-1009 comes from a well-thought-out combination of materials and an advanced design. The gripping area is made of flexible goatskin grain leather, valued for its softness and low thickness. This lets you feel even the thinnest filler wire precisely, which is key to TIG weld quality. The cuff is made of thicker split cowhide, forming a solid barrier that protects the wrist from radiant heat and spatter. The standout feature is the seam-free index finger, a Weldas innovation that removes the extra thickness of material at the point of contact with the wire and allows smooth, uninterrupted feeding. The whole glove is sewn with 4-strand braided DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, which ensures that the seams do not burn through or tear, the most common cause of damage in cheaper gloves.
