Materials and construction
The 44-1050V cover is built on carefully selected cowhide split leather, a material valued in welding for its excellent resistance to abrasion, punctures and high temperatures. The leather forms a solid yet flexible barrier that protects sensitive gas, water and power lines from mechanical and thermal damage. The seams, sewn with 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, keep the construction intact. Unlike standard thread, KEVLAR® does not melt or burn through on contact with hot spatter, which is the most common reason why cheaper covers fail. As a result, the cover will not come apart when you least expect it and has a long service life even under heavy use.
Safety and certification
Cable covers, as accessories, are not classified directly under the EN ISO 11611 clothing standard. However, the materials they are made of, cowhide split leather and KEVLAR® thread, are the same components that provide certified protection in Weldas welding clothing and gloves. The product is made in a Weldas plant whose quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Rheinland. This ensures full traceability of raw materials, strict inspection at every stage of production and consistently high quality of the finished product.
