Materials and Construction
The reliability of the 44-4535Z cover is based on carefully selected cowhide split leather, a material valued in welding for its good balance of flexibility and strength. The leather forms a solid barrier that protects the internal lines (gas, power, control) from mechanical damage when they are dragged over sharp edges or rough floors. The key construction feature, and a mark of premium quality, is the 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread. Unlike standard cotton or polyester thread, KEVLAR® is highly heat-resistant and does not burn through on contact with hot spatter. This keeps the cover intact throughout its service life and removes the risk of torn seams, the weakest point of cheaper alternatives.
Safety and Certification
Although the cable cover is not classed as personal protective equipment under EN ISO 11611, it plays an important role in workplace safety. By keeping the cables intact, it helps prevent potentially dangerous situations such as shielding gas leaks or electrical short circuits.
