Technical details and certification
Materials and construction
The 44-7928Z cover is built from carefully selected split cowhide, a material valued in welding for its natural resistance to high temperatures, molten metal spatter and mechanical damage such as abrasion and cuts. The seams are sewn with DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, which keeps the construction intact. This is a key feature that sets premium products apart: KEVLAR® thread does not melt or burn through when hit by sparks, so the cover will not split open when you least expect it. The practical zip, sewn in along the entire length of the cover, lets you fit it to the cable bundle and take it off very quickly, which makes work and equipment maintenance much easier.
Safety and certification
Although accessories such as cable covers are not directly certified to garment standards such as EN ISO 11611, the materials used to make them come from the same controlled production line as certified Weldas PPE. Split cowhide and KEVLAR® thread meet the highest standards of thermal and mechanical resistance. The main safety function of the cover is to keep the welding cables intact, which prevents dangerous short circuits, electric shocks and costly equipment failures caused by burnt or worn-through insulation. A cover is a proactive step towards a safer workstation as a whole.
