Materials and Construction
The core of the 38-4330 jacket is a heavy (HD, Heavy Duty) flame-retardant cotton fabric weighing as much as 520 g/m². Such a high fabric weight gives a protective barrier well above standard FR clothing and effectively shields you from sparks and spatter. The construction is held together by seams sewn entirely with 3-ply twisted KEVLAR® thread, which resists burning through and breaking, so the garment does not come apart at the most critical points. Weldas designers paid attention to safety-critical details: the high collar protects the neck, and the double closure (insulated snaps covered by a hook-and-loop flap) forms a tight barrier that keeps hot particles from getting under the clothing.
Important note from experts and users: Arc Knight® jackets run small. For maximum comfort and full wrist protection, we strongly recommend buying one size larger than you normally wear.
