Böhler Welding ADF auto-darkening filter Guardian 50, 50M Air

The ADF filter Guardian 50 is the factory-fitted auto-darkening cartridge of the Böhler Welding Guardian 50 helmet and its air-fed version Guardian 50M Air. Its light state is shade 4; when the arc strikes it darkens to the shade set within 9-13. Viewing area 50 x 100 mm, 4 arc sensors and optical class 1/1/1/2 to EN 379. The CR2450 battery is not included.

Who it is for

For Guardian 50 and Guardian 50M Air users replacing a cracked filter or one that no longer darkens despite clean sensors and correct sensitivity. The manufacturer specifies it for MIG/MAG, TIG with inverters, MMA, AC/DC pulse welding and argon or helium shielding. The filter is not suitable for laser welding.

Replacing the ADF filter Guardian 50

• The CR2450 battery Böhler Welding ADF battery CR2450 Guardian, Evolution Vision, Evolution V80, Laser Guard is sold separately. Insert it as shown in the manual.
• The filter is held in the shell by a retainer with screw Böhler Welding ADF retainer with screw Guardian 50, 50M Air, 50FM Air. Replace a cracked or lost retainer together with the filter.
• Use the filter only with the inner lens Böhler Welding inner lens Guardian 50, 50M Air (5 pcs), fitted from the back into the locators on the filter.
• At the front the filter is protected by the front cover lens Böhler Welding front cover lens Guardian 50, 62, 62F, Laser Guard (10 pcs) or the heavy-duty version Böhler Welding front cover lens Heavy-Duty Guardian 50, 62, 62F, Laser Guard (5 pcs).

No. Filter 86693 is sold without a battery. You need a CR2450 battery Böhler Welding ADF battery CR2450 Guardian, Evolution Vision, Evolution V80, Laser Guard.

Can I set a shade below 9?

No. This filter has one dark range, shade 9-13. Two ranges, shade 5-9 and 9-13, are offered by the Böhler Welding ADF auto-darkening filter Guardian 62, 62F filter for the Guardian 62 and 62F.

Does it fit the Guardian 50FM Air?

No. Guardian 50FM Air has its own filter, Böhler Welding ADF auto-darkening filter Guardian 50FM Air, with shade 5-9 and 9-13 and an internal grind mode.

How do I switch the filter off?

There is no on/off switch. The filter shuts off by itself after 15 minutes without use.
