The ADF filter Guardian 62 is the factory-fitted auto-darkening cartridge of the Böhler Welding Guardian 62 and Guardian 62F welding helmets and their air-fed versions. Its light state is shade 4; when the arc strikes it darkens to the selected range, shade 5-9 or 9-13. Viewing area 62 x 98 mm, 4 arc sensors and optical class 1/1/1/2 to EN 379. The CR2450 battery is not included.

Who it is for
For welders with a Guardian 62 or 62F helmet who need a new filter: after mechanical damage, or when the filter no longer darkens even with clean sensors and correct sensitivity. The manufacturer specifies it for MIG/MAG, TIG (including inverters, above 5 A), MMA, AC/DC pulse welding and argon or helium shielding. Grind mode is selected with a switch on the outside of the shell.

Replacing the ADF filter Guardian 62
- The CR2450 battery Böhler Welding ADF battery CR2450 Guardian, Evolution Vision, Evolution V80, Laser Guard is sold separately. The battery compartment sits under the cover on the inside of the grind switch; insert the battery as shown in the manual.
- The filter is held in the shell by a retainer with screw Böhler Welding ADF retainer with screw Guardian 62, 62F. Replace a cracked or lost retainer together with the filter.
- Use the filter only with the inner lens Böhler Welding inner lens Guardian 62, 62F, 62 Air, 62F Air (5 pcs), which is fitted from the back into the locators on the filter.
- At the front the filter is protected by the front cover lens Böhler Welding front cover lens Guardian 50, 62, 62F, Laser Guard (10 pcs) or the heavy-duty version Böhler Welding front cover lens Heavy-Duty Guardian 50, 62, 62F, Laser Guard (5 pcs).

Frequently asked questions
Is a battery included?
No. Filter 63635 is sold without a battery. You need a CR2450 battery Böhler Welding ADF battery CR2450 Guardian, Evolution Vision, Evolution V80, Laser Guard.
Does this filter fit the Guardian 50?
No. Guardian 50 and Guardian 50M Air use a different filter, Böhler Welding ADF auto-darkening filter Guardian 50, 50M Air: 50 x 100 mm viewing area and one dark range, shade 9-13.
Can I TIG weld at low current?
The manufacturer rates the filter for TIG above 5 A. If the filter does not darken, raise the sensitivity and check that the sensors are clean and facing the arc. At an angle of 45° or more the arc light does not reach the sensors.
How do I switch the filter off?
There is no on/off switch. The filter shuts off by itself after 15 minutes without use.
Is the filter suitable for laser welding?
No. For handheld laser welding use the Böhler Welding Laser Guard helmet for laser and hybrid welding helmet.
