The ST 2200 U/D is a gas-cooled TIG torch, 4 m long, with U/D (up/down) buttons for changing the current from the handle. It takes electrodes from 0.5 to 4.0 mm and carries 180 A DC or 125 A AC at 35% duty cycle. In this length Böhler includes it, among others, in the gas-cooled packages of the TERRA NX 270 TLH, TERRA NX 320 TLH, URANOS NX 2200 TLH, URANOS NX 2200 AC/DC and URANOS NX 2700 AC/DC.
What it is for
An everyday TIG torch for work without a cooling unit. The U/D buttons change the current while you weld, without walking back to the machine. On URANOS NX AC/DC machines you can also use it with alternating current, for example on aluminium. If you often weld for long periods close to 180 A, consider the liquid-cooled ST 3000 U/D.

How does the ST 2200 U/D differ from the ST 2200 FX U/D?
The ratings are identical: 0.5 to 4.0 mm electrodes, 180 A DC and 125 A AC at 35%. The ST 2200 FX U/D 4 m has a flexible neck you bend by hand in any direction; Böhler Welding recommends it for vertical and overhead positions and confined spaces. Both use the same consumables.
Which consumables fit the ST 2200 U/D?
Standard 17/18/26 series parts: collets 1.0 to 4.0 mm, collet bodies in the same sizes, ceramic nozzles from No. 4 (6.4 mm) to No. 12 (19 mm) and a long or short back cap. Match the collet and collet body to the electrode diameter.
4 m or 8 m?
The 4 m length is enough at a bench or close to the machine, and the torch is easier to coil up. If you weld further from the power source, for example on a large structure, choose the ST 2200 U/D 8 m.
