The EWM Integral MIG 500 is an inverter MIG/MAG welder with pulse and synergy, liquid cooled, with current up to 500 A. The item name gives two wire feeders.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for steel structures and heavier joints, where you need a current reserve and a steady arc on long welds. The memory holds programs for welding different metals, so after a change of wire and gas you move from mild steel to stainless or to aluminium without setting the parameters by hand.
The pulse detaches the droplet in time with the current, so there is less spatter and the weld face comes out more even. On top of that come the TIG Lift and MMA modes, that is lift arc ignition and work with a covered electrode, so one station also covers repairs you cannot reach with a MIG torch. You trim the hot start and the crater filling on their own, so you control the start and the end of the weld, and the crater does not crack.
Two wire feeders cut the changeover: you hold two different wires in them at once and move from one to the other without changing the spool.

What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V from a power socket, and the description gives no fuse rating, so agree the connection with an electrician. Cooling runs on liquid, so you need a water cooled torch and a sound cooler: check the coolant level, the pump and the tightness of the quick couplings before you start.
Two feeders take up space at the station and raise the weight of the set, so plan the transport and a fixed layout. The description does not list a torch, cables or a cooler in the set, so confirm the contents before you buy, and the weight as well.

This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
