The EWM Phoenix 421 is an inverter MIG/MAG power source with a welding current up to 420 A, with 420 A at an 80% duty cycle and 380 A at a 100% duty cycle. Supply 400 V, liquid cooling, a panel with pulse, superPuls, synergic mode, forceArc and rootArc.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for structural steel and stainless steel welded with solid wire. The 380 A at a 100% duty cycle holds long runs without breaks, so you take it to beams, frames and tanks. The synergic mode shortens the setting up: you choose the wire and the thickness, and the power source picks the voltage and the feed speed.
forceArc gives a focused arc with a lower heat input and deep fusion in the upper power range, so you make full penetration passes without bevelling the material. rootArc is a soft arc, good for wide gaps and for root penetration in all positions. A workshop that makes structures from thicker plate and lays root runs on pipes takes such a set.

- Pulse. Controlled transfer of the metal droplet limits spatter and shortens cleaning.
- superPuls, that is double pulse. Two power levels give a rippled cap and less heat in the material.
- Synergic mode. You set the wire and the thickness, and the power source picks the rest of the parameters itself.
- forceArc. A strong short arc with a stable direction and deep fusion in the higher power range.
- rootArc. A soft arc that is easy to shape, for wide gaps and work in any position.
- A full control panel. You choose the processes and the settings from the panel.

What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V. Liquid cooling: before you start, check the fluid level, the flow and the tightness of the quick couplings. The record does not list an interconnection cable, so the reach is set by the 4 m welding lead. It gives no weight and no dimensions, so arrange transport before collection.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
