Fronius TPS 2700 is a digital welding power source with pulse for MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA. You set the current from 3 to 270 A, at a 100% duty cycle the machine gives 210 A, and the whole thing weighs 27 kg.
What this machine is for
You take this source for wire welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, and after switching the process also for TIG and for a covered electrode. The range from 3 to 270 A covers thin sheet and typical workshop structures. Pulse comes in useful with aluminium and thin stainless steel, because the peak current tears the droplet off and the base current cools the pool, so the material does not burn through.
In synergic mode you set the thickness of the material with one knob, and the system picks the wire speed and the voltage. The panel is digital, with a display, it supports remote control, and you update the software from a laptop. The torch, the wire feed drive and the cooling system work as one set steered from the same panel.
A weight of 27 kg and dimensions of 625 x 290 x 475 mm mean that you carry the machine in a car and bring it in with two people. Such a source works on a building site, in a repair workshop and in a plant where one station handles several processes.

What to watch out for
The supply is 3 x 400 V with a tolerance of 15% and a slow blow fuse of 16 A, so the machine will go onto a typical power socket in a workshop. A base power of 4.5 kVA at a 100% duty cycle, a cos fi of 0.99 and an efficiency of 87% at 70 A mean a low draw when welding thin sheet. The duty cycle is 270 A at 60% and 210 A at 100%. The open circuit voltage is 50 V in MIG/MAG and from 10.1 to 20.8 V in TIG. Class IP 23 allows work under a roof, but not in running water.
The product card gives gas cooling, that is a configuration with an air cooled torch, while the old description also mentioned a liquid circuit, so confirm the configuration before you buy. The card lists neither a torch nor a feeder nor cables, so ask about the equipment and about what travels together with the source. A weight of 27 kg at dimensions of 625 x 290 x 475 mm makes transport easier, but with a feeder and a trolley the station gets heavier.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
