The Fronius TPS 5000 is an inverter MIG/MAG welder with synergy and pulse, cooled with liquid and run from a 400 V supply. It gives 500 A at a 40% duty cycle and 360 A at 100%, and you work in the band from 3 to 500 A at a voltage from 14.2 V to 39 V. A four roll drive feeds the wire.

This is a power source for production that joins thick sections with thin sheet. 360 A at a 100% duty cycle lets you pull long beads without breaks, and the reserve up to 500 A you take on thick fillet welds. The lower limit of 3 A and the voltage from 14.2 V mean you also go down to thin parts.
Pulse detaches the drops without a short circuit, so there is less spatter. Synergy with programs for steel, stainless steel and aluminium shortens the changeover, and the interconnection cable from 10 to 20 m gives reach in large assembly work.
