Ideal Expert TIG 320 AC/DC is an IGBT inverter welder for a three-phase 3 x 400 V supply. You use it for TIG and TIG Pulse welding with alternating (AC) and direct (DC) current, and for MMA with coated electrodes. On AC you weld aluminium, its alloys and brass, on DC stainless steel, carbon and low-alloy steels, copper and titanium. The current range is 10 to 320 A, and the set includes a cooling unit, a trolley and an 8 m TIG 18 torch with remote control.

Features
Welding modes
You have TIG DC, TIG DC Pulse, TIG AC, TIG AC Pulse and MMA modes. TIG 2-Level switches between a higher and a lower current with each press of the torch trigger, and TIG spot is for tacking thin material. Pulse influences the weld shape and arc focus, and on thin parts it limits the heat input.
AC waveform
On the panel you choose the AC voltage waveform: square, triangle or sine. You also set the AC balance and frequency.
HF and LIFT ignition
You strike the arc without contact (HF) or by touch (LIFT). Use LIFT where electromagnetic interference could disturb the surroundings. In both modes the torch trigger works in 2T or 4T (latch for long welds).
Panel and program memory
On the digital displays you set gas pre-flow and post-flow, start current, up-slope, welding current, base current, down-slope, end current, pulse width and frequency, AC balance and frequency, and HOT START and ARC FORCE. You save your own settings in 9 memory slots.
MMA functions
ARC FORCE with manual adjustment helps droplets transfer from the electrode to the weld pool and keeps the arc from going out. HOT START with manual adjustment supplies a higher current at ignition, so the electrode strikes more easily. ANTI STICK cuts the voltage when the electrode sticks to the material.
Cooling unit and construction
The cooling unit raises output and protects the torch from overheating. You connect the torch to the gas with a quick coupler, without tools. The machine has overload protection.
