Kjellberg HiFocus Plus 160i is an inverter CNC plasma power source built in Soft-Switch technology, for cutting machines, gantries and robots. The cutting current reaches 160 A and holds that value at a 100% duty cycle, and the adjustment range starts at 10 A. Supply is 3 x 400 V at 50 Hz with 33 kVA, and the unit weighs 196 kg. What this machine is for
This is the base for a CNC cutting table. The source cuts carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloys in thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 50 mm, and the full 160 A at a 100% duty cycle lets you burn sheets for several hours without breaks for the power modules to cool down. On thick sheets, from 20 mm to 50 mm, it is the duty cycle that decides whether the gantry finishes the nest in one go.
FineFocus technology gathers the plasma arc into a strongly compressed column. The edge is less bevelled, less dross forms and the heat affected zone is narrower, so parts thinner than 6 mm ripple less and do not distort. You cut sharp corners, tight hole radii and small contours with an accuracy closer to laser cutting than to ordinary workshop plasma.
A high open circuit voltage of 400 V and high voltage ignition give an instant pilot arc and a repeatable transfer to the main arc. The source pierces through rust, mill scale and paint residue, and it copes with a changing torch standoff above the table. A separate marking mode works with a current from 4 to 25 A at a 100% duty cycle, so you lay out bend lines, batch numbers and assembly marks without stopping the gantry and without changing the torch setup.
Plasma cuts with an arc burning between the electrode in the torch and the material, in a gas stream squeezed in the nozzle. The tighter the arc is focused, the narrower the kerf, the straighter the edge and the less grinding on parts after the nest. That is why in High-Definition class sources what counts is not the current itself but the way the plasma gas and the swirl gas are routed, and that is the job of the gas console, which you choose for this unit separately.

What to watch out for
The offer covers the power source alone. To build a plasma line you add a gas console, for example the manual PGE 1-HM or an automatic one from the FlowControl family, a PerCut 160 or PerCut 170 machine torch with cooling and a set of control cables. You match the plasma and swirl gases to the material: oxygen for mild steel, nitrogen, argon and mixtures for aluminium and stainless steel.
Supply is 3 x 400 V at 50 Hz with 33 kVA, with a 50 A circuit breaker with a C characteristic. An open circuit voltage of 400 V and high voltage ignition call for sound insulation across the whole installation and a well earthed table. The unit weighs 196 kg and measures 960 x 540 x 1050 mm, so prepare a forklift for unloading.
This is equipment for CNC stations, not for hand cutting, because the interface and the digital signals were planned for control from a gantry.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
