Paton ProMIG 350 (15-4) 400V MIG/MAG welder - basic information
The Paton ProMIG 350 15-4 MIG/MAG welder is intended for semi automatic welding in the MIG/MAG process under shielding gases and gas mixtures, for manual arc welding in the MMA process and for arc welding under argon in the TIG process with direct current.
The design of the ProMIG 350 15-4 model (15 kg spool, 4 roll feeder) gives one of the best levels of protection against outside conditions on the market. The rated current of this model, 350A at a 70% duty cycle, allows intensive welding of material without the risk of overheating the machine. The power source can be separated from the wire feed mechanism, both for ease of use and for safety. A feature of the PATON™ series Professional semi automatic machines is the high quality, sealed, metal wire feeder, along with the KZ-2 connector of the "EURO" type, which has become a world standard and lets the user change the torch later as he sees fit.
In a fully electronic system, the control unit holds every resource of the power source, within its full output and whatever process is used. The "Professional" series machine is intended for industrial use, for the most demanding users.
Functions and features of the Paton ProMIG 350 (15-4) 400V MIG/MAG welder
GAS FREE WELDING FUNCTION, WELDING WITH SELF SHIELDED WIRE
All PATON MIG/MAG machines are prepared for welding with self shielded wire. Unlike the traditional MIG/MAG process, this welding runs without shielding gas, but it does call for a special welding wire. Such wire builds its own shield, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self shielded wire suited to PATON welders can be bought here, and 5 kg wire spools will fit every wire feeder.
BRAZE WELDING - INDUCTANCE CONTROL
Paton MIG/MAG machines of the Standard and PRO series can braze weld thanks to inductance change in three steps. Inductance control optimises the arc characteristic according to the thickness of the welded part. This function is needed to change the rate of current flow when the arc voltage changes. The thinner the part to be welded with MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (a soft arc, less penetration), and the other way round for thick parts (a hard arc, deeper penetration).
PULSE FUNCTION
- PULSE in the TIG process full control of the heat put into the material, a strong function for welding stainless steel and acid resistant steel,
- PULSE in the MMA process easier transfer of material from the electrode into the weld pool, better quality of the welded joint,
- PULSE in the MIG/MAG process easier detachment of metal droplets from the end of the electrode wire, with adjustable parameters of the pulsed current. Pulsed MIG welding is useful on stainless steels, acid resistant steels and aluminium alloys. Pulsed welding also gives better parameters in CuSi3 braze welding.
The machine has a synergic control function in pulsed mode, which picks the optimum welding parameters automatically, giving a stable arc and high weld quality.
Main advantages of the Paton ProMIG 350 15-4 400V MIG/MAG welder
- European production
- Electronic thermal protection system that guards every heat generating part against overheating
- Reliability thanks to IGBT technology
- Able to work on long extension leads and with a generator
- Welding with pulsed current
- Improved stability of the electric arc
-
Change of operating mode 2T, 4T, gas purge from the feeder function
- Besides protection against surges and drops in mains voltage, the machines carry a stabilising circuit for longer voltage changes in the line to line supply network and allow correct work over a voltage range from 320V to 440V
- Half the electrical power demand compared with traditional power sources
- Optimum fusion and a proper bead shape whatever the welding position
2 year manufacturer warranty for consumers and for companies alike
The highest build quality is confirmed by a 3 year DOOR-to-DOOR manufacturer warranty. Models of the PRO series have a compact build with a number of innovative technical solutions that raise the reliability of the machines. Inverter reliability in dusty and humid settings has been increased.
