Materials and construction
The 44-2106 spats are built from carefully selected split cowhide with a guaranteed minimum thickness of 1 mm. This material forms a solid barrier that protects work boots, and the laces in particular, from being burnt through by hot welding spatter. A key element that keeps the product intact is the 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread. Unlike standard cotton or polyester threads, KEVLAR® is highly resistant to high temperatures and mechanical stress, which removes the risk of split seams, the most common weak point in protective clothing. The well-thought-out design with a height of 15 cm covers the critical area from the toes to the ankle.
Safety and certification
The Golden Brown™ spats are certified to EN ISO 11611:2015, Class 2/A1. Class 2 is the highest level of protection provided for welding clothing, intended for high-intensity work such as MIG/MAG welding at high currents or stick electrode welding (MMA). By choosing this product, you can be sure that your feet are protected in line with strict European safety standards, as confirmed by independent tests at the TÜV notified body.
