The COOL FR™ system is based on lightweight, breathable cotton that gives you freedom of movement and wicks moisture away efficiently, while fully meeting strict safety standards. Materials and construction
The COOL FR™ trousers are built on technically advanced flame-retardant cotton with a fabric weight of 9 oz. (approx. 255 g/m²). Unlike heavy leather clothing, this fabric is very light and airy, which makes work in high temperatures much more comfortable. The name "COOL" refers to this lightness and breathability, not to any active cooling technology. The trousers are designed with ergonomics and safety in mind. Dielectric snaps remove the risk of conducting current, and special fabric pleats keep sparks and spatter from getting in. The ergonomic cut means the trousers do not restrict your movement when you squat, kneel or work in awkward positions.
Safety and certification
Weldas COOL FR™ 31-1600 trousers are a fully certified product, which guarantees your safety. Compliance with EN ISO 11612 confirms that the garment provides effective protection against brief contact with flame, convective heat and radiant heat. A key distinguishing feature is certification to EN 1149-5, which confirms the antistatic properties. This means the trousers can be used safely in explosion hazard zones (e.g. ATEX), where dissipating electrostatic charges is a critical requirement. All certificates were issued by the independent notified body TÜV, which confirms the high quality standards and consistent production of Weldas.
