Materials and construction
The heart of the 10-2178 glove is the patented COMFOflex® technology. It is not an ordinary lining but an advanced two-layer system. The inner layer of soft fleece absorbs sweat and keeps your hand dry, while the outer foam layer forms an air cushion. It does two jobs: it cushions and acts as an extra thermal insulator. Importantly, both layers are flame-retardant, so comfort does not come at the expense of safety. The whole glove is sewn with very strong, burn-through-resistant KEVLAR® thread, which removes the weakest point of cheaper gloves. The specialised trigger finger cut frees the index finger. This ergonomic solution was created specifically for MIG/MAG welders and lets you operate the torch trigger freely. The "Wide Body" cut, 8% wider, is not only about comfort but above all a safety feature that lets you shake the glove off instantly.
Safety and certification
The Weldas 10-2178 glove is certified as Type A to EN 12477. This classification is intended for gloves used in the heaviest welding processes, where the top priority is the highest level of protection against thermal hazards (spatter, convective and radiant heat) and mechanical hazards. The product is also tested to EN 388 (mechanical risks) and EN 407 (thermal risks) and achieves high resistance levels, which confirms that it is intended for professional, industrial use.
