Materials and construction
The 10-1003 gloves are built on carefully selected pigskin grain leather. This material is valued in the industry for its combination of softness and resistance to oil and water, and above all it stays flexible even after getting wet and drying out. The key innovation that sets the SOFTouch™ series apart is the patented seam-free index finger design. With no seam at this critical point, the welder gets an excellent, undisturbed feel and smooth movement while feeding the TIG wire. The whole glove is sewn with 4-strand braided DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, which ensures that the seams neither burn through at high temperature nor tear under mechanical stress, the most common cause of premature wear in cheaper gloves. Additional reinforcement at the thumb crotch significantly extends the service life in the area most exposed to abrasion.
Safety and certification
The Weldas 10-1003 gloves are fully certified to the European standard EN 12477, which classifies them as Type B. This designation is reserved for welding gloves that must provide the highest level of dexterity (level 5 according to EN 420), which is essential in TIG welding. The certificate, issued by the recognised notified body TÜV Rheinland, confirms that the product meets strict requirements for protection against thermal (EN 407) and mechanical (EN 388) hazards.
