Materials and construction
The 10-1007 is an example of smart material design, where every element has a clearly defined function. The gripping area of the palm is made of top-quality, soft goatskin grain leather. This material is valued for its exceptional flexibility and thin structure, which give you outstanding feel and precision when feeding TIG wire. The back of the hand and the cuff are made of durable split cowhide, which forms an effective barrier against the radiant heat of the arc and stray spatter. The key innovation is the seam-free index finger: with no seam at this critical point, nothing can catch on the wire, and the wire can be guided smoothly and without interruption. The whole glove is sewn with very strong, heat-resistant KEVLAR® thread, which keeps it intact even under intensive use and prevents the most common cause of damage, burnt-through seams.
Safety and certification
The Weldas SOFTouch™ 10-1007 gloves are fully certified to the European standard EN 12477:2001/A1:2005 in the Type B classification. This designation is intended for welding gloves where high dexterity is required, as is typical of TIG welding. The certificate, issued by an independent testing body, guarantees that the product meets strict requirements for resistance to abrasion, cutting, tearing, puncture and flammability.
