Materials and construction
The secret of the 10-2644 model's performance is a smart combination of two types of leather and premium stitching. The palm, made of bison grain leather, is the heart of the design. This material is valued for its dense fibre structure, which gives outstanding resistance to abrasion and tearing, better than standard cowhide. At the same time it stays flexible, which means less hand fatigue and more precise movements. The cuff is made of thick split cowhide and forms a solid barrier that protects the wrist and forearm from spatter and radiant heat. The integrity of the whole glove is secured by seams sewn with DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread. Its resistance to high temperatures and mechanical stress removes the most common cause of glove failure: burnt-through or torn seams.
Safety and certification
The Weldas 10-2644 gloves are certified to strict European standards, which guarantees their protective performance. They meet the requirements of EN 388 (protection against mechanical risks) and of the welding glove standard (EN 12477, which combines the requirements of EN 388 and EN 407, protection against thermal risks). Certification confirms that the gloves have been tested for resistance to abrasion, cut, tear and puncture and for contact with heat and small drops of molten metal.
