Materials and Construction
At the heart of the trousers is an innovative heavy FR cotton fabric weighing 520 g/m². Thanks to its density and specialist flame-retardant finish, the material offers a level of protection against spatter and intense heat that comes close to leather clothing in tests. This makes it possible to reach Class 2 protection with much lower weight and better breathability. Key seams are sewn with very strong 3-ply DuPont™ KEVLAR® thread, which does not melt or burn and keeps the garment intact even in extreme conditions. Dielectric (electrically insulated) press studs eliminate the risk of current being conducted through the clothing by accident, a key safety point when working with electrical equipment.
Safety and Certification
The Arc Knight® 38-4360 trousers are certified to EN ISO 11611:2015, Class 2 / A1+A2. This is the highest possible protection level for welding clothing, intended for the most demanding and hazardous welding work. Class 2 means the trousers are designed for processes such as MMA (basic electrode), high-current MIG/MAG or gouging.
